Project Description
Sun Mechanical was selected as the plumbing and mechanical contractor for the Casino Del Sol expansion, which introduced 215 new luxury hotel rooms and a conference center with a capacity of up to 2,000 guests. The expansion also included a steakhouse with seating for 100, an international buffet, a lobby lounge and bar, a full-service spa, exercise facilities, a warehouse, and a four-level covered parking structure.
The HVAC system for the facility incorporates vertical stack fan coils with chilled water and electric heating coils for the guest rooms. Core and common areas are served by air-handling units with VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes for precise zone control. Chilled water is supplied by the casino’s existing central plant, and hot water for the air-handling units and fan coils is also sourced from the central plant. To accommodate the increased demand, the central plant was expanded with two 550-ton chillers and corresponding cooling towers.
